Make a gift online.
A gift to Presbyterian Villages of Michigan Foundation is truly making an investment in the quality care and housing for seniors. Gifts can be designated for a specific purpose, program or entity throughout the Presbyterian Villages community. There are several ways to make a tax-deductible contribution.
Other ways of giving
- Gifts of Cash, In-kind Services, Honorials or Memorials are ways that donors can make an immediate contribution through annual appeals, special campaigns, special events and employee payroll deduction. Additionally, Honorials and Memorials are great ways to honor special loved ones or remember someone that has passed.
- Gifts of Appreciated Securities & Real Estate are other forms of gifts accepted by the Foundation. The full market value, up to 30% of your adjusted gross income can be deducted in any one year from such a gift. Any excess can be carried over and deducted in subsequent years as with cash gifts. No matter how much these investments have appreciated in value, you pay no capital gains tax on your profit.
- Gifts of Life Insurance Policies may be an ideal way to fulfill your charitable desires. A gift of life insurance does not reduce your income, and you may receive significant income tax deductions. You may own a life insurance policy and because circumstances have changed, it is no longer needed and can be contributed to the Foundation for a charitable tax deduction equal to the cash surrender value of the policy.
- Planned Gifts are gifts that can be designated now, but not actually given until a later point in time, such as beneficial designations of life insurance policies or qualified retirement plans; bequests; or assets transferred to the Foundation or a trust in exchange for current income. These deferred gifts can be very useful in achieving estate planning goals while creating a personal legacy. Carefully crafted planned gifts may offer:
- Reduced gift and estate taxes
- Income tax savings
- Lifetime income in exchange for donated assets
- Avoidance of capital gains taxes
- Conversion of low-yielding assets to high-yielding assets
Whatever option you choose, know that you are making a significant impact in the lives of the seniors served by Presbyterian Villages of Michigan. For more information, please call the Foundation office at 248.281.2040.
