Affordable housing helps older adults with limited incomes access safe, comfortable housing at a reduced cost. Many programs are funded through federal, state, or local agencies.
Eligibility depends on age (some villages are 55 and older and some 62 and older); household income, household assets (where applicable); and citizenship. Income requirements vary by community and local housing guidelines.
Affordable senior living communities are designed to provide the independence you want and the features you need, supported by amenities, conveniences, and services that turn just living into satisfaction and a sense of belonging. Public transportation access and community vans keep you connected with local shopping, banks, church and health care. Specifics vary by village but features can include accessible apartments, elevators, community rooms, laundry facilities, secure building entry, building maintenance, and resident activities. Some villages offer a knowledgeable Resident Service Coordinator to consult about the challenges of aging independently.

This service is free, private, and complete voluntary. Coordinators can help find services, understand options and connect with trusted providers.
PVM is affiliated with the PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) program in Michigan This Medicare and Medicaid plan delivers all-inclusive, coordinated medical care. Pace makes it easier to stay healthy and stay in your home. Many villages are close to PACE centers.
You and your family may engage independent in-home service providers, too.

We embrace and engage more than 7,500 seniors of all faiths and financial needs in and around villages conveniently located throughout the state. Our independent living apartments vary in size and styles and are designed for the independent senior with the security of knowing there is also 24-hour monitoring. Some seniors require assistance with the daily activities of life. Assisted Living services include personal supportive and health care services designed for the senior that needs assistance with dressing, bathing, grooming, etc., but don’t need 24-hour skilled nursing care. PVM’s Assisted Living apartments are designed to keep seniors as active as possible with the security of knowing there is periodic monitoring and personal pendant responsive. Services and level of care vary, but each Assisted Living community continues to offer each resident an personal on-call pendant, medical management, social activities, wellness programs, meals, laundry and housekeeping services. At PVM, our Assisted Living is a combination of housing and services personalized for each resident’s individualized needs. Assisted Living is offered at some of the PVM independent living campuses and our Life Plan Community. At PVM, we have a great sense of pride in providing a sense of community and consider each resident a member of our family.
Some of our PVM communities offer a memory care program that provides a secure, home-like environment for seniors with Alzheimer’s, dementia and other memory issues. Our compassionate staff creates an individualized program of support. The result is a plan that is customized for your loved one and provides for the array of services to make life easier and diminishing the confusion and agitation often associated with memory-loss disorders. We pride ourselves in having specialized housing with programs and services that fosters individual’s skills and interests of the resident coordinated by specially trained professionals skilled in handling the behavior associated with memory loss impairments. PVM's array of services includes 24-hour skilled nursing care for residents who require personal care, supervision and medical care. Our team of highly trained professionals can provide nursing care on a short term or long term basis. We offer daily personal care, services of a registered nurse, treatments or procedures on a regular basis. Residents may also need sub-acute rehabilitation care designed for someone who has had an acute illness or injury such as a stroke, fracture, knee replacement surgery. Our skilled nursing centers are licensed and regulated by the State Department of Public Health and are certified for Medicare and Medicaid. Payment options include private pay, Medicare/Medicaid, private insurance.
Residents may require sub-acute rehab care when challenged with an acute illness or injury such as a stroke, fracture, knee replacement surgery as examples. PVM’s array of services includes 24-hour skilled nursing care for residents who require personal care, protection supervision and medical care. Resident care depends on the needs of the resident calling for 24-hour skilled care. PVM is licensed and regulated by the State Department of Public Health and are certified for Medicare and Medicaid. Payment options include private pay, Medicare/Medicaid, private insurance.
Skilled Nursing / Nursing Home Locations
PVM offers families respite care – short-term residency in Assisted Living or Memory Care areas. This is designed to assist families or caregivers when they need a vacation, attend a family function, or any other important event taking them away from caring for their loved one. PVM offers an array of services and programs to fit the needs of the family and their loved one on a short-term basis. The stay can be a few days or a few weeks.
