SOUTHFIELD, MI (January 4, 2016) -- The respective boards of directors for Delta Manor, Inc. and Presbyterian Villages of Michigan (PVM) have approved the two organizations entering into a Management Agreement effective January 1, 2016, for the management of Delta Manor, a 100-apartment senior community in Detroit. Through this agreement, PVM is responsible for the day-to- day management and operations of Delta Manor with reporting accountability to the Delta Manor Board of Directors. The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has approved this new relationship.

Moreover, PVM’s 70 years of successful mission-driven property management programs and activities, combined with its knowledge of federal rules and regulations that govern properties like ours, make PVM an excellent selection for us and for the 100-plus residents who call Delta Manor home.”

Michael Polsinelli, Detroit Field Director for the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) stated: “HUD is looking forward to working with Presbyterian Villages of Michigan and the owner of Delta Manor as this new partnership brings new vitality and increases the quality of life for all residents of the development.”

Delta Manor is a seven-story high rise located on 2.5 acres at 2150 E. Vernor, south of Gratiot Avenue near Detroit’s Eastern Market. It is owned by Delta Manor, Inc., a Michigan non-profit housing corporation. The mission of Delta Manor is to create an appealing and safe environment that enhances the quality of life for residents. Delta Manor was one of the first development projects of its kind in the United States to be initiated by a Greek-letter organization. The project was conceived of and brought to life by the Property Task Force of the Detroit Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Delta Manor opened in late 1988 at a cost of approximately five million dollars.

PVM is a Michigan non-profit organization that was founded in 1945. It currently serves over 4,500 seniors of all financial means across the state in 27 communities. Its mission is to serve seniors of all faiths and create new possibilities for quality living and its vision is to transform senior living and services and enhance the communities it serves. Through this management agreement, Delta Manor will represent PVM’s ninth community being served in the city of Detroit.
