Presbyterian Villages of Michigan is committed to serving seniors and communities. It’s our goal to be a first-line provider of resources, including information. Aging should be an adventure, not a scary trip!

In the PVM Blog, the experts at PVM will regularly publish articles and information. Topics may range from smart ways to age in place in your long-time home, to tips on how to shop for a senior community. We will have articles on transportation, wellness, nutrition, technology, activities, outlook-on-life, and more.

Please let us know your ideas for topics and comments on our articles. We succeed as seniors in our community have the best Aging Adventure!

Time plays tricks on us! It seems like it was yesterday when we learned to drive, attended our prom and graduated from high school. Now many of us are taking photos of our grandchildren experiencing these life moments. There comes a time when we look in the mirror sideways and say: “What the heck happened?” As Diane Sawyer once stated: “Inside every older person is a very surprised young person!” The good news is that we can get revenge on Father Time by Aging Well.

As I write this the temperature is expected to reach 100 degrees today. This is just the beginning since a hot summer is on the horizon. Many thanks to the Detroit Housing Commission for sharing many of the following tips:

Check out this excellent interview with Paul Miller, PVM Foundation President, with Port Huron radio personality, also named Paul Miller. They discuss the exciting new developments happening at The Village of Lake Huron Woods:

It is that time of year once again. Although spring seems to be slow in coming, senior providers are ready to go with our annual tribute to Older Americans Month in May and the chance to highlight the accomplishments and needs of our aging population. Seniors saved our country from tyranny and supported our schools, libraries, emergency responders and our communities in general. They still volunteer to help our society in so many ways as citizens, parents and grandparents.

To our readers: If you are fed up with impossible to open packaging and voice mail purgatory (being placed on hold for an inordinate amount of time or being bounced from extension to extension) feel free to share this information with companies with which you do business.
